What to do with Sandbags as Water Recedes

As the water levels of the Mississippi River recede, we know that homeowners will want to remove sandbags from their property. If you are comfortable with the water levels and are no longer concerned about levels rising again, you may bring sandbags back to the Village Shop. You may empty the sandbags into the sand pile we have in the shed and dispose of the empty bags in the containers provided. If you are unable to empty the bags, you may stack them to the side so as not to block the opening of the building.

Please use your best judgment in deciding whether or not to remove sandbags from your property. Water levels could still change in either direction and you don’t want to have to rush and place them again if the water rises!
