The American Bald Eagle is a magestic bird. It is a symbol of beauty, power, and grace. As the National Bird of the United States, it is displayed on our money, national seal, and many other documents. It symbolizes our freedom and determination.
Cassville has been visited by these fabulous birds each year, and honors them with an annual celebration of Cassville Eagle Days. Visitors from near and far come to Cassville to view these national treasures in the wild, and appreciate the beauty and grace as they soar over the Mississippi River. Open water in the river is provided by the local power generating plants and provides these magnificent birds with a source of food through the winter. Some eagles fly north in the summer, but some remain in Cassville all summer and nest and raise a family here. Be sure and visit Cassville and experience the wonder of these magnificent birds. You're always welcome.
