Ecksein Memorial Library

The Eckstein Memorial Library is a member of the 27-member Southwest Library System (SWLS) based in Fennimore, WI. We are linked via computer to libraries in a five county area. Be accessing our on-line card catalog, we can see at the touch of a key where a specific book is if it is not available in the Cassville Library. We can then borrow the books over the computer, and it is usually delivered here to our library in a week to ten days. We can also borrow books from any library in the state of Wisconsin. The Eckstein Memorial Library has gone high-tech and replaced it's old card catalog with one on computer. This on-line card catalog lists all books, magazines, videos and audiobooks in the five county member libraries of Southwest Library System. If the item you want is not available at the Eckstein Memorial Library, chances are that it will be available at one of the other libraries. It can then be obtained for you through ILL (Inter-Library Loan), and delivered to out Library in Cassville.

The Eckstein Memorial Library has a good collection of audio books for both adults and children. We offer books on cassette and have started to add books on CD-ROM to our collection. We also receive a rotating collection with new titles, coming into our library about every two months. Audio books may be checked out for two weeks and may be renewed.

The Eckstein Memorial Library has a large collection of movies in VHS format for both children and adults. We are currently adding DVD’s to our collection. Movies may be checked out for one week.

The Eckstein Memorial Library now offers laminating. Bring your items to be laminated any time during the week. Laminating is done on Thursdays. Your item will be ready to pick up after 2:00pm on Thursdays.

Cost is 5 cents per inch.

Also available for public use is an HP scanner. This scanner is connected to both a color and black & white printer.
